Melissa Richards-Donohew
Chief People Officer at the National Forest Foundation, Melissa Richards-Donohew has more than two decades of experience leading human resources strategy and operations. Her expertise spans talent acquisition, culture and engagement, innovative compensation and benefits, people analytics, labor and employee relations, change management, and learning and development. A ’96 graduate of Penn State with a B.S. in Health Education, Melissa began her career at the Center for Victims of Violent Crimes—work that grounded her lifelong commitment to protecting the rights, safety, and wellbeing of all people. She brings that same people-first perspective to Laura’s Light, helping balance organizational needs with compassionate support for survivors.
Outside of work, Melissa dedicates summers to fundraising for autism initiatives, fallen heroes, and those impacted by cancer, and she enjoys time in National Forests and Parks, riding her motorcycle, throwing axes, and being with her family.
